We decided that widening the template to 1024×768 was appropriate (given what we knew of their browsing and buying audience). This afforded the space for much larger, richer photography of some of the finest flowers in the world.

We also added a new search functionality on the site powered by the Google Mini search appliance — leveraging the search algorithms of the best search engine on the planet. What’s more is that with the Google Mini, we gain valuable insight into searching behavior and search terms of greatest interest to the end user to ensure that appropriate content is always provided.

And this was all well and good, but one of the most important accomplishments was making the Flowerbud website web standards compliant. We are passionate about our sites being accessible for any audience, including screen readers and alternative browsing devices — using web standards is a strong step in that direction.

These updates, plus a slew of administrative tool enhancements, SEO improvements and continuing a relationship with a great client really made us feel good about a job well done with Flowerbud’s team. And we like it when our clients feel the same:
